I support an expedited path to citizenship for foreign-born Californians with strong roots in our neighborhoods.

My parents migrated to this country in the 1970s and became US citizens when I was a little girl. Their parents told them the streets in USA were painted in gold! They came from a very tight knit family that supported them tremendously. One of my aunts was our full-time baby sister and she supplemented her income by cleaning homes to afford many parents their child care.

State funding has been made available to help long-term residents apply for citizenship and money has recently been made available to assist those facing deportation with legal assistance.  More support and attention is needed to ensure all Californians can reach the American dream.
